Wow, what a poorly put together list.

If only for the fact that you put the remake over the original classic of The Day The Earth Stood Still – were you trying to tie into the DVD release or something??

Ok your list sucks on multiple levels. it sucks so badly I am going to list my problems with it below in an esay to follow way:

Movie That Are on Your List But Definitly should not have been
A. The Day the Earth Stood Still (Remake)
All remakes suck and this one was worst then most.
B. Terminator 2
Great movie, it really is. Except its more like action then scifi.
C. alien legacy
Wasnt that great

Movies that Should have been on your list
A. Solyaris (the original russian version)
B. Wrath of kahn
C. Planet of the Apes
d. incubus

Reasons why this list sucks:
A. Reeves
B. It has a re-make on it
C. you put 2001: A Space Odyssey lower ranked then the matrix trilogy.
D. You dont know sci-fi

Ways this list could have been worse
A. it could have had more reeves on it
B. it could have had Lifeforce on it

And alien legacy, I know I saw it but I can’t really remember a thing about it so I guess it wasn’t that good. I do clearly remember alien and aliens, both great movies which aren’t on your list.

The remake of the day the earth stood still was horibble and perhaps the
most poorly cast movie I can remember in recent years. And who can seriously watch the last 2 matrix movies (what disappointments after the original matrix).

As the kiddies say, FAIL. Maybe not epic fail but still fail. The Matrix yes. The other 2 in the “trilogy” NO . The day the Earth.. No. Alien and Aliens yes, any other Alien movie NO.

Dune, yes, Star Trek 2 yes, Soylent Green Yes, Close Encounters Yes.

Worthy mentions (All better than remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still): Gattica, Road Warrior, The Thing (horror?), 12 Monkeys, original day the Earth stood still, invasion of body snatchers, original planet of the apes, ET, original Terminator, Tron, Akira, Jurassic Park, The Fly, Logan’s Run, Children of Men, Predator.

This list is awful! You’ve gotten enough flak for including TDTESS remake. So I’ll yell at you for saying the entire Alien legacy is a masterpiece is ridiculous. Alien 3 and Resurrection are not nearly the caliber the first two are. Tard.

Same goes for Matrix 2 and 3. Which suck.

How do you rate Blade Runner below those?

Comments are absolutely true. The Day that e….. COME ON!!!
The Matrix Trilogy is bit iffy, if you put it bottom of the list then maybe, Keanu Reeves fan?. There are many films that are much better… in any point of view or standards.

Just to illustrate one of the many, many, MANY things wrong here: “A Boy And His Dog.” Surprisingly good catch. Don’t know if it’d be on my personal top-ten list, but definitely worth consideration. But:
- The film won the *Hugo*, not the Nebula, for *best dramatic presentation* in *1976*, that being the year after it was released.
- The *novella it was based upon* won the Nebula for best novella in 1969, that being the year it was published.
- Comparing it to Lord of the Rings? Seriously? Is there another post here where you compare Ferraris and potatoes?
- If you’re going to quote Wikipedia, you really should attribute it. At least pick better, more relevant quotes. Did you actually *watch* this movie?

I could go on for several pages, but why bother? First time visiting this site. And the last.
