Might sound a bit immature but the original ninja turtles movie in my opinion is one of the greatest NYC movies ever made. I mean they go underground, on top of buildings, order pizza from the sewers….im just sayin….might be number one

With Robert DeNiro being involved in 5 out of the 20 flicks its safe to call him the King of New York actors.

I love Glengarry Glen Ross, but it’s important to keep in mind that the original play took place in Chicago. I wouldn’t consider so much of a great “New York” movie because of that, especially with Wall Street already on the list

Hey great article,

2 things,

1) The Warriors is not a version of The Odyssey, but the Anabasis, about a The Ten Thousand, an ancient Greek military unit stuck waaaayyy behind enemy lines and their fight out .

2) Glengarry is an awesome film and one of my favorites, but it’s also a film that takes place in Chicago (in the films few exterior shots, you can see the El). The Second City gets this one…. but you could replace it with “Sweet Smell of Success” which has pretty vile people willing to do anything for a dollar and it takes place in NYC.
